We are the sole fundraising arm to support to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh

Story

One of the most common causes of death and disability in U.S children is brain injury. It can be extremely challenging to accurately diagnose and provide prognostication of neurological diseases in children. Currently, translation of therapies from laboratory to patients takes a very long time, thus, transformative approaches are desperately needed for the development of individualized treatments and accelerate recovery.

The CNI is a joint effort between the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh focused on improving child health and combating childhood neurological diseases by catalyzing multidisciplinary research collaborations across the neuroscience community.

We are building a unique and highly successful program to generate innovative neuroscience methods, diagnostics, and treatments.

Please consider making a donation to help fund research focused on pediatric neuroscience research, education, and patient care.

The CNI Research Fund goal is to reach $50,000 to help fund pilot grant projects that support the discovery of all things neuro in basic, translational, or clinical research domains. All topics relevant to the brand mission of the CNI are welcome, including but not limited to, acute brain injury, genetic disorders, oncological diseases, development across a lifespan, immune/infectious disorders/diseases, rehabilitation, and behavioral health.

The Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Pilot Grant program is designed to foster and accelerate the pace of pediatric neuroscience research by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration that encourage innovative thinking. This program will have preference for projects that include multi-omic platforms, induced pluripotent stem cell technology, bioinformatics, and molecular imaging approaches with a well-described and collaborative path to improve child health and combat childhood neurological diseases.

Fund may also be used to provide financial support for research startups for young faculty joining the CNI team, administrative infrastructure, and educational resources including research seminars, conferences, and postdoctoral trainings.

100% of your tax-deductible donations will be used to support the CNI research.

CNI aims to become the world's premier destination for pediatric neuroscience research, education, and patient care.

Thank you for supporting the CNI!
