Story
For many of us, winter is marked by gentle snowfall, roaring fires, fluffy blankets and warm clothes. Temperatures fall and roads become icy and wet, but we know that in our homes we are safe, warm and protected. However, for countless people around the world, winter is a battle for survival. Millions wonder if without adequate shelter, good food and warm clothing, they will survive the freezing months.
This year, the Coronavirus pandemic has made winter even more difficult around the world. Without adequate protection and food to remain healthy, people are at more risk than ever.
In the Middle East, millions of people are living in temporary refugee camps or homes. In Palestine and Lebanon, refugees have fled violence and conflict to seek security and safety.
Over the last 3 years, Muslim Charity has supported over 10,000 people during the challenging winter months. We have strived to provide protection, safety and warmth to those most in need across Asia, the Middle East and in the UK.
With our Winter Emergency Appeal this year, Muslim Charity will be delivering vital winter items to help protect vulnerable communities against the brutal winter. With your support, we will be distributing warm clothing, shawls, socks, hats, blankets, mattresses, jackets, food, heaters and fuel. We know that this vital winter aid can truly save lives this winter, and through our emergency response, we seek to protect, support and keep warm.
Winter is a major struggle for vulnerable communities all over the world, including here at home in the UK. Winter is especially difficult for the homeless community in the UK who have no shelter, warm clothes or warm food.
We will be spreading warmth this winter in the UK too, by providing sleeping bags, mats, hygiene kits and warm food and drink.
You can send your warmth to a vulnerable family and provide them with enough nutritious food to eat for one month. Each food pack includes vital, staple food for a whole family and will help them stay healthy and strong throughout the winter.
