We train rural health workers to provide emergency dental care

Story

Annie and I have been huge supporters of Bridge2Aid for some years now.

I'm not a dentist, so there's a limit to what I can do from a practical point of view but I invest my time in helping with the overall strategy and planning of the charity.

Annie is a hygienist and as well as offering practical help she also works as events manager for B2A and can regularly be seen "manning" the stands at dental conferences.

Running the 2011 London Marathon will be a challenge for me after a 5-year gap in my training programme due to distractions and injury - but I could not have a better excuse to "get fit" than to support the B2A team and the wonderful work they do.

In addition, Annie and I have agreed to Climb Kilimanjaro for B2A in August 2011 and that is reflected in our ambitious fund raising target.

Annie has experience of trekking, having already successfully tackled the Great Wall of China.

We are both excited and somewhat daunted by "Kili" but determined to make it all the way.

Please help us to reach our fund raising target and we will be encouraged to jog those early pavements and walk coastal pathways in Cornwall during the coming Autumn, Winter and Spring.

We will regularly update our Facebook sites ("coachbarrow" and "anniehyg") with those walks - and with your support.

Thank you.
