A grassroots organization run by indigenous managers, working to improve the standard of living in our community and make a sustained and positive impact on the lives of people living in extreme poverty. We approach our work, and the people impacted, with the utmost respect, humility, and empathy.

Story

Konojel means “All Together” in Kaqchikel, the Mayan dialect spoken in San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala. That’s exactly our goal — bring people together to do incredible things. We firmly believe that we are more powerful when we come together for a common purpose.

We will be walking from St Bees on the Cumbrian coast of England (the Irish Sea) and finishing at Robin Hoods Bay on the North Sea.

I have been supporting this little known charity for almost a year now.  It is good to know that the money I donate is to help the village with education and supply food for the poorest families, especially the malnourished children and babies.  They also supply the basic materials for the villagers to help themselves by weaving carpets to sell.

It would be amazing if you could help us raise funds for what I feel is an extremely worthwhile charity.  Please do check out their website and wish us luck.
