Each year Friends of the Cancer Centre funds life saving and life changing projects which make a real and positive difference to thousands of cancer patients and their families. The charity relies on donations from the public to be able to support these patients locally and across Northern Ireland.

Story

Hi, I'm Marty Holland, I've already walked the Munster and Leinster coasts to raise funds for The Irish Cancer Society. To date I've raised over €31000 for them. I'm recommencing my walk in Northern Ireland in March and while walking there I will fundraise for Friends of the Cancer Centre, Belfast. I well know the generosity of Northerners, as I'm originally from Belfast, so I'm hopeful that between online Justgiving donations and contributions on the road I'll reach my target of £10,000. I'm inspired to undertake this challenge by the loss of two close friends to cancer, John O'Reilly (a friend since childhood and originally from Belfast) and Michael O'Regan from Tralee. The sense of powerless I felt when John and Michael were dying prompted me to do something positive to combat cancer. Any support you can give for this very worthy cause is greatly appreciated and will help to make the walking easier. Thank you for your support and for your generosity.

I'm planning to start the N.I. leg of my trek on March 20th outside Newry. You can follow my progress on FaceBook: Facebook.com/CoastForCancer     Twitter: @CoastForCancer   and on my Blog:  https://totalcoastforcancer.wordpress.com

Please spread the word in whatever way you can. Many thanks. Marty.
