A baby is born with a serious heart condition every two hours in the UK - that's about one baby in a hundred. Despite congenital heart disease (CHD) being one of the biggest killers of infants, only around half of congenital heart defects are picked up during routine prenatal scanning, and Tiny Tickers is working to improve this detection rate.

With your help we can also provide a safety net for the 1,000 babies each year that leave hospital with their heart defect undetected,  by increasing detection rates in newborns, improving a baby’s chances of survival and long-term quality of life.

My grandson (now 11 years old) was born with CHD and had 2 open heart surgeries in his first year. His survival is due largely to his CHD having being detected before birth.
