Story

We are raising money to help support our Young Helms Program. The mission is to enable young people aged 8-15 to access sailing for the first time making an adventurous activity an lifetime achievement and memory. This opportunity will create positive challenges allowing individuals to take responsibility for their own development, while benefiting from sailing in the outstanding environment of Chichester Harbour.

The program supports a mixed group of young people in both primary and secondary education, who are in receipt of a means tested benefit and have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic within the UK .

Working through the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) OnBoard scheme each participant will be introduced to wider sailing opportunities within the harbour . The program will create and increase the possibility of long-term engagement within formal education to included future engagement with local sailing schools, clubs and centres within the harbour.

Save the UK's Charities General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income
