100 Mile Cycle For Blue Skies Appeal. · 31 August 2021

We want to build a garden balcony on our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) so that our poorly patients can benefit from the outdoors in a safe and infection-controlled environment.

Story

We are a group of Intensive Care Physiotherapists raising money for the Blue Skies Balcony Appeal for the Countess of Chester Hospital.

We are going to cycle from Chester to Llandudno up the Great Orme and back to Chester, covering 100 miles in one trip.

We see every day the results of prolonged stays on ICU and we feel that the balcony will be of huge benefit to our patients recovery.

The Blue Skies Balcony Appeal! The new appeal is to build a garden balcony on our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) so that our poorly patients can benefit from the outdoors in a safe and infection-controlled environment. All patients, their visitors and staff are set to benefit from this innovative improvement that will make it easier and safer to move patients outside with no loss of space to the existing unit which opened in 2014.
