35 Mile Towpath walk in a day from Bishops Stortford to Tower Bridge. · 29 July 2017

Hypo Hounds is a registered Assistance Dog Charity training Diabetic Alert Assistance dogs to sniff out the changes of their Type 1 Diabetic partners blood sugar levels. Through early intervention we are preventing hospital admissions, preventing children collapsing, and improving their lives.

Story

Coco is training to be a type 1 diabetic alert dog for our daughter Millie.

Coco is being trained with the help of Hypo Hounds to alert when Millie's blood levels either drop dangerously low or rise dangerously high and out of normal range.

Coco will be a life changer for Millie as she will give Millie the confidence to live normally in the knowledge Coco will be by her side alerting day and night when her blood levels go out of range.

At 9 weeks old Coco was already alerting to Millie's blood levels when she went out of range, which is fantastic, but these alerts needs to be enhanced and this is where the vital training will take place.

The cost to train Coco is over £8000, so every penny will help raise much needed funds, for other life saving dogs.

In July we will be doing a sponsored walk from Bishops Stortford to Tower Bridge along the river Stort / Lea and Thames, passing through (Sawbridgeworth / Harlow/ Roydon/ Broxbourne/ Cheshunt/ Enfield Lock/ Tottenham Hale/ Olympic Stadium/ Limehouse Cut) to name a few places, using the towpaths which is around 35 miles and we will do this in 1 day, more details to follow in the spring.

Team Coco.
