Story

Colonel Kev and Del Dragon

1. CHALLENGE COMPLETED. The Branas Ultra Mountain Marathon (BUMM 22) on 12th & 13th of May 2022. This was a non stop 100 mile run in 40 hours and 48 minutes from Llandderfel to and up Snowdon and across Garnedd Ugain, Crib Goch, Elidir Fawr & Y Garn, then due to the weather a 50 mile road run back to Llandderfel. Running 50 miles on the road after 50 miles on trails and mountains was hard to say the least - Col Kev and Del had to dig deep to get to the end...

2. CHALLENGE COMPLETED.  6 SUMMITS DUE TO BAD WEATHER on last ascent - overall 43 MILES, 6 ROUTES AND 17000 FEET OF ASCENT/DESCENT. The Seven Summits of Snowdon in July 22. This was due to be a non stop 7 ascents of Snowdon via the main 6 paths and Crib Goch in under 24hrs. 7 summits over approx 60 miles with over 20000 feet of ascent and descent. SUNNY CHAND AND LIZZIE FAITHFULL-DAVIES JOINED THE TEAM FOR THIS EVENT 😀.. It was a real test of endurance and determination.

3. CHALLENGE PARTLY COMPLETED- HAD TO WITHDRAW AT 138 MILES DUE TO FEET INJURY. Sunday 4th September.........The Dragon's Back race route South to North - solo. This is 230 miles from Cardiff Castle to Conwy Castle in September 2022 over 6 days. While the famous main Dragon's Back race heads south Colonel Kev and Del Dragon will head north, unsupported and solo....this is going to be super hard averaging 38 miles per day over moors, tracks, trails, roads, bogs, rivers and mountains! Sleeping under the stars each night carrying all the equipment.

Wales Air Ambulance Charity is funded by the people and requires £8 million a year to keep its four helicopters in the sky, serving Wales and saving lives. It does not get any Government funding and does not qualify for any lottery grants. The charity can be anywhere in Wales within 20 minutes, its doctors and medics fly the A&E department to the patient.

It also runs the Children's Wales Air Ambulance service, transferring vulnerable babies and children to the specialist hospitals across the UK. Your donations will help keep this vital service in Wales.

About the charity

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advanced life-saving emergency care for everyone in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are a ‘mobile emergency department’ that relies entirely on donations to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
