Climb of Life 2017 · 3 November 2017
Thanks for taking the time to visit the OPI JustGiving page.
This year, On November 3, we will join another office products industry
congregation to tackle 30 of the toughest mountains in the UK's Lake District under the Climb of Life (COL) theme of ‘30 YEARS, 30 MOUNTAINS, 4 ICR’.
The figure 30 is significant in that it represents the number of years that COL has been working for charitable causes. And it was 11 years ago that COL founder, industry veteran and Chairman of the BOSS Business Supplies Charity, Graeme Chapman MBE, decided to donate the raised monies to the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) which, in partnership with The Royal Marsden hospital, forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe.
This year's efforts will again be done with the memory of a much-liked former colleague uppermost in our minds. Former OPI marketing manager Michelle Richards sadly lost a long and courageous battle with
leukaemia three years ago.
About the event...
The event sees teams climb the UK's highest Lakeland Mountains during freezing winter conditions to raise money for the global charity ICR. This short video from our climb in 2015 will give you some idea of the conditions the OPI team will be facing:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send
unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send the money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please dig deep and support this fantastic cause. And hopefully one day there won’t be a need to climb mountains in the wind and snow, and we won’t have to mourn friends, colleagues and relatives who have lost their battle against cancer.
Thank you.
