We are a group of volunteers working in conjunction with the East of England Ambulance Service covering the Colchester area. Living in the local community we can be despatched by the Ambulance control room to certain emergency calls to bring life saving equipment or just reassurance to patients while the Ambulance is on their way. 

In the event of a heart attack, early defibrillation can increase the chance of survival by up to 70%

As a group we also maintain over 60 public access defibrillators across Colchester as well as running training sessions in Basic Life Support and use of the defibrillator to groups throughout the area.

As volunteers we are not paid and take no expenses for the use of our own vehicles. However we have to fund our equipment. Each responder kit costs around £2500 plus £100 for each responder uniform.

The public access defibrillators require regular replacement of the electrode pads costing £35 and batteries costing £350.

All the funds we raise are put back into the community. Please help us keep up this life saving work for the Colchester community.
