Elaine is a colleague of one of FunDays committee members and over the last 5 years has given so much to the charity via raffles she wanted to do something herself as she believes in what FunDays do. So Elaine is very kindly and energetically running the Dublin Marathon!

FunDays really appreciates all the support Elaine and people like you are giving. Without your support we would not be able to deliver the monthly session to families who travel far and wide to join us. 

A little about what we do.....we provide an afternoon a month for children with a learning disability and their families, this is a safe space where families will be with others who are are 'walking in similar shoes' to them. 

We provide four rooms which have different activities to engage and entertain children with special needs and their siblings. The variety of activities range from a new specially designed craft, circus skills, Sensory Sensations, Sign 2 Music, Baby Sensory, Animals NI, Pets As Therapy, Football Association, Playball, Magic George, Aldo, Scientific Sue to making sensory bottles, making play dough, erupting volcanoes etc. It's a busy afternoon for everyone, but we always make time for having a cuppa and a treat. We are currently working on resources for older children/siblings. We are trying to create a space where all the family members are entertained.

One Granny said 'I was worried about my daughter when she got her son's diagnosis, I thought she would be really isolated, but that's not the case now she has made some friends here at FunDays'.
