Story

I have wanted to tackle Wainwright's famous Coast2Coast walk from St Bees in Cumbria over the Pennines via the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors to Robin Hood's Bay from the very first time I heard about it about forty years ago but some other activity or event has always made me postpone doing so until now ! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have a full time walking companion in my brother-in-law Kenneth and we will be supported throughout the walk by our wives, Pauline and Abigal, and Kenneth and Abigail's daughter, Catherine ,who will be all of 10 months old by then and also their two West Highland terriers, Hector and Bonnie. We plan to complete the 192 miles of the walk over 12 days with one day of rest which means averaging just over 17 miles a day on walk days. We are hoping that the weather will be kind to us and be dry but not too hot but will be prepared for whatever the great British summer decides to give us.  I am walking to raise money for Sportability which provides sport and challenging pursuits for people with paralysis around the UK. Please go to www.sportability,org.uk to find out more about the objectives and achievements of this wonderful charity of which I'm delighted and honoured to be a trustee.
