Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal Challenge

Hadrian’s Wall challenge · 28 January 2020
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I had originally planned to walk the Hadrian’s Wall path ( approximately 79 miles) in May 2020 to raise money for the British Tinnitus Association but due to Covid 19, this was rescheduled for May 2021. However, with the uncertainty of lockdowns and restrictions, I have made the decision to stay local and complete my fundraising challenge in September 2021.
I will now be walking 33 miles along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal over the weekend of the 4th and 5th of September which will be a big challenge.
About 30% of people will experience tinnitus at some point in their lives, but the number of people who live with persistent tinnitus is approximately 13% (over 1 in 8).
Tinnitus is more common in people who have hearing loss or other ear problems, but it can also be found in people with normal hearing. Many people are fighting an inner battle which unfortunately we cannot see.
Tinnitus is a debilitating illness which causes great suffering and anguish. I am supporting the BTA where everyone would like "A world where no one suffers from tinnitus." However we also want to find better ways to manage tinnitus – and ultimately a cure.
The BTA receives no money from the government and are 100% reliant on support from members of the public and grant-making organisations to be able to support people with tinnitus across the UK.
Please, if you have anything to spare for this amazing cause - donate now.
Thank you all for your support and donations.
Kind regards
Colin
