So earlier this year I decided to apply for the London Marathon and yes you guessed it I have secured a place. arrrgghh!!! For those of you who know me, know that I do not run and this will be a challenge however I am very determined and will no matter what be running in April 2018. 

Having watched my brother Mickey complete the London Marathon earlier this year (2017) in aid of our older brother David, I too really wanted to honour his memory by doing the same.

I will be raising money for the British Heart Foundation and here is why.

In 2005 my family and I sadly lost my brother age 23, he was what you would call a healthy, fit young man who had chosen a career in the British Army however his life was cut short when he died suddenly of a heart attack. At that time the charity provided endless support and testing for our family. It was then that it became apparent that my sister Tammy also had a serious heart condition resulting in her having to have an ICD fitted at the age of 16. The support doesn't stop there, my incredibly brave sister to this day still has to undergo heart surgery every 5 years to have the ICD replaced so without this charities research and support who knows where we would be.
