I used to be fit and run regularly, then I had children and a busy work and social life limited the free time I had to get out and run. My youngest is two now and it is easier to fit running into our daily lives. 

I began running again in January 19 and remembered how much I loved it. I entered the Bristol 10k and my training was going well..... until I had to have a small operation just 6 weeks before. I felt certain I wouldn't make it and then I got the offer to "slow run" on behalf of the Royal British Legion which I did and I managed to jog most of the way around. 

I have found that I need something to aim for so I stay motivated and the Bristol Half is my next big challenge. I have run a half marathon before but not for a number of years so this will be tough!

Why the Baby Bank?

My wife and I are very lucky to have a fantastic support network around us and a number of friends who have children of similar ages so we are able to swap and reuse all those essential items. My wife currently volunteers at the warehouse with our youngest who loves "helping" by sorting the toy donations, she has seen the fantastic work that the Baby Bank does and how essential the money raised is. 

We can't begin to imagine how hard it is for those families who don't have the basics and wanted to do more to help them by raising much needed funds.

The Bristol Half is one step towards the overall goal of running a marathon before I am 40..... watch this space...…!!!
