Colin's 80 Miles in 5 Hours Cycle for Parkinson's UK · 10 July 2016

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Hi everyone! My name is Colin Roberts. I’m 77 years old, and 18 months ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.

On 10 July 2016, I’ll be riding 80 miles in five hours on a training bike at Park Pool in Ormskirk, to raise money for Parkinson’s UK and the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

My daughter Lesley was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in 2008, and died in May 2010 after a long battle.

I’ve always been a keen fundraiser: since 1988, I’ve raised money for Christie’s Hospital, the Queen’s Court Hospice, Pancratic Cancer Research and Guide Dogs for the Blind (enough to train two!)

On 17 March 2016 I raised money for Sports Relief by cycling 50 miles in three hours on the training cycle – good practice for my next challenge...

Any support or sponsorship is much appreciated

Thanks in advance,
Colin
