Story
Dear All
As my moment of madness approaches (1 month and 14 days to race day - 12th October 2025) I thought I would give you an update.
Thanks to everyone who has sent me suggestions about training programmes. I think I have taken a piece from everyone and so far all is going well. This will be the furthest I have ever run, I wanted to gather as much information and knowledge as possible (and there is a vast amount out there!).
Also, being the furthest I have run I have been a little nervous. From when I started this journey to date I have clocked up a total of 439km. My weekly long runs have been good so this morning I ran 20km and all went well. So fingers crossed.
The amount of support you have all given has been beyond great and I cannot thank you enough. I especially thank all who have donated to my JustGiving page for Leukaemia Care. Thank you. If you have not yet managed to donate yet, you still have time.
Well that's it for now and I will try for another update closer to race day.
Thank you for your support
Colin

Having had a moment of madness (or was it a late mid-life crisis?) I have decided to run my first half marathon.
Partly inspired by my nephew and Mark (a friend & a great runner in his own right) I have done it and signed up.
I wanted to run for a charity which supported leukaemia, a cancer which took both my parents.
So here I go and thank you for your support!
Leukaemia Care is a national charity dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support. Around 34,000 people are affected by blood cancer each year in the UK and we're here to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
