Colin Hockaday - fundraising for MND Scotland

Forth Bridge Abseil · 27 October 2013 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
3 years ago my family was shocked by the discovery that a loved one had been diagnosed with MND. There is no known cure for the disease which takes a terrible toll on those who suffer from it and their families.
There's a lot of media coverage and fundraising for cancer but I think it is important to draw attention to those diseases which receive less attention, especially those for which, as of yet, there is no hope for recovery.
Therefore, I thought I would challenge myself and do something that scares me in order to raise funds for MND Scotland, who provide support and assistance for those with MND. I've never been great with heights - in fact my knees turn to jelly at the thought of them - so thought I would confront this fear in order to raise funds for a good cause.
On the 27th of October I will be abseiling from the Forth Rail Bridge, along with my friends James, Deborah, Jason and Aisling, in order to help raise funds for MND Scotland. It will be scary for me but nowhere near as scary as the experience that those who suffer from MND go through. Please help provide support to those people and kindly donate to this worthy charity.
Thanks.
