Maggie's to Maggie's Challenge

Westwoods Maggies Swimtag Challenge · 1 November 2013
Maggie's are the charity that we always try to raise money for when we fundraise at my workplace, Westwoods Health Club.
The Community Fundraiser asked me if I would like to get involved in a "Maggie's to Maggie's Challenge" and run/cycle the distance between two Maggie's Centres.
I'm not much of a runner but I like to swim so I thought I'd try and be part of the first group of people to Swim between two Maggie's centres; Maggie's Edinburgh and Maggie's Fife, which is 11.4 miles or around 18.35km.
Unfortunately the North Sea is a little bit chilly in November so I'll be using a SWIMTAG to track my swim and doing it all in the pool here at Westwoods along with several other club members.
I have now completed the challenge. It took me 4 days to swim the 734 lengths.
It costs Maggies £2400 per day to operate and every day they help an average of 120 people who have been diagnosed with cancer, through support groups and 1:1 sessions with counsellors and much more. The more I have visited them though work, the more I've been inspired to do more to help them. We all know someone who has been diagnosed with cancer and it's vital that these services remain!
