Story
Currently not making masks but will be back as soon as I can. Please continue to donate and please read the original story below. Don't forget to donate 😀
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Martin Bliss, I work as an activities coordinator for a large charity. I run activities for people with learning disabilities and I'm currently having to close the activities due to the coronavirus. So I wanted to do something that would benefit us all.
I am making 100% doubled up cotton masks for people who arent able to access surgical masks. My research tells me that cotton or cotton blends are proven to protect upto 50% against 0.2 micron particles which are close in size to the coronavirus. I have created 3 sizes so far but I'm adaptable and will create other sizes. These masks are an alternative for those unable to access proper PPE, you should always use a surgical mask if you can.
I'm not asking for money to fund fabrics I am using my own supply of fabrics purchased by myself. All proceeds will go towards the NHS to help them at this crucial time. The work the nurses, doctors and staff are doing is amazing and I want to show them that they arent alone in this.
I also want to thank the support workers, bus drivers, post men/women, people working in our supermarkets and anyone else keeping this country running. Its important what they are doing and we are grateful.
Remember always use proper PPE if you have access to it, the masks I make are not a cure for coronavirus, they are a homemade DIY mask made with fabrics that I have researched to be a good alternative. Practice good hygiene, stay in doors and social distance. These rules are in place to protect you and help out NHS function.
