Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
Some background..... it started with a plan to get fit this Summer and do something for Charity, before I knew it me and a couple of colleagues were signed up to do a 100 mile cycle race ..... what have I let myself in for!
On August 4th, the 100 mile race around London and the Surrey Hills will start around 6am from the Olympic Stadium in Stratford. We'll be cycling through the west End, then down through Richmond Park. From there we head out to Surrey and the HILLS! (climbing both Leith Hill and Boxhill made famous on the Olympic Road race last year!)
After the Surrey Hills is a ride (slog!) back into London and a final sprint finish down the Mall!
To put it in perspective 100 miles is the equivalent of riding:
London to Bristol or
Durham to Sheffield or
Nottingham to London
or London to Brighton (and back again!)
As you probably know I dont have any history of being a cyclist .... so there has been some serious training already and plenty more to come!!
As well as the challenge there is a great charity...
My chosen charity is Marie Curie Cancer Care, as you may be aware they are a charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.
The care and support they provide to both patients and their families across the UK is invaluable. Any donations through this page will help to continue the incredible work they do in helping others.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now!!
