Story
Blythe House Hospicecare provides care and services to anyone in our local community affected by life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, heart failure, COPD and neurological conditions like motor neurone disease. The hospice was founded in 1989 by Reverend Betty Packham, with a £1,000 legacy left to her by Stan Blythe, from Fairfield, for whom she cared for in the comfort of her home in the final weeks of his life.
Throughout the ongoing COVID-19 situation, healthcare assistants from the 24/7 Hospice at Home service continue to provide end of life and palliative care in people’s homes; the hospice also has volunteers providing services including shopping, prescription collections, telephone support and other tasks like pet walking, across the local area. If you think the hospice could support you or a loved one, please don’t hesitate to call: 01298 816 990.
