For anyone who knows me well enough, you will know that me and exercise are like chalk and cheese... we just don't have a very good relationship; the extent of me being active is running my mouth! Haha
So, I decided to set myself a new goal and challenge, one completely out of my comfort zone (Comfort, geddit?!) which was completely and utterly inspired by the Marathon Machine that is Kat Francois, and sign up to take part in the 2010 Adidas 5k Challenge (I’ve been told that 5k is about 3 miles).
You'll notice that I said 'take part in' and not 'complete'... this is not me being negative, it is me being pragmatic! I shall take-part and by taking part, I shall complete it, but by using this term, I will ease myself into it, instead of stressing about the end result of finishing/completing it. I know, you're sat there thinking 'that doesn't even make sense' but it does to me, so pah!!
Right, well, that's enough rambling from me, other than to say, I will be raising funds for my choosen charity, Arthritis Care. Around 10 million people in the UK have arthritis - including my Mum. Arthritis means inflammation of the joints. Most people with arthritis will experience pain and difficulty moving around and Arthritis Care aims to raise awareness as well as help sufferers to take control of thier symptoms and continue to have a good quality of life.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please dig deep and donate now – no amount is too small, whatever you can give will be much, much appreciated.
