24 HOUR CYCLOTHON! · 11 October 2018
As part of the RW Global Charity Day, on behalf of Cancer Research, we're taking our historically completed challenges to the next level.....
In 2016 - Four able bodied (OK four of us the office who owned a bike) took to Surrey and rode up and down Box Hill all day until we hit the total ascent of Everest. Trust me, this was hard. very hard.
In 2015 - We rode our bikes from the RW Birmingham office back to Slingsby Place (RW HQ), the small matter of over 120 miles, some of down the A1 which was the least pleasant thing i've ever done on a bike.......
in 2018..........
Dom and I (plus Nick Hodgson and Marc Earnshaw from our sister business Resource Solutions) are riding in two pairs on turbo trainers (stationary bike trainer) for 24 hours outside 11 Slingsby (Robert Walters head office).
Like Nick and Marc, we have planned to complete this doing two hour blocks, swapping and riding through the night with only our reception's BBC news feed for company.
For those of you tempted to hold back as you know I like cycling......
......its true I do.
......But not over 24 hours on my turbo trainer
Its going to be hard, pretty joyless at times and harder than the other events we've completed especially considering the lack of sleep and repetition. If all goes to plan my estimate is that we'll ride around 300-350 miles combined (London to Lands End plus some extra)
For those at Robert Walters, we will have some buckets around for you to drop that loose change you have lying around too.
PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY on here and come by and say hello
