11 NOVEMBER: SWALLOWFIELD DID IT!  CONGRATULATIONS, EVERYONE!

Thanks to the involvement of so many local people, 1120 poppies now blanket 3.5 metres of our war memorial, right up to the cross.

A memorable and very well supported Act of Remembrance at 11am on 11.11 was filmed by Meridian ITV and can be viewed on https://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2021-04-19/catch-up-itv-news-meridian-thames-valley-for-berkshire-oxfordshire-north-hampshire-and-buckinghamshire till ousted by the next 6pm local news on 12 November.

Remembrance Sunday will be marked by our normal Act of Remembrance at 10.15am, with the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts as well as all of you. This is followed by the Remembrance church service at 10.50am. All are most welcome at either and both!

We have been encouraged by the widespread support and hope our neighbours, friends and family will feel inspired to donate more than usual to the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes, as we all try to go the extra mile, as our armed forces personnel have so often done.

Most people buy their annual poppy but we are asking you to match the effort of the crafters by donating more to support Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion. We have produced at least 1000 poppies. Donations of £1 per poppy would raise £1000. Help us to help our heroes!  Thank you.
