Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Companion 40 for 40 Club fundraising page.

Sue Ryder Wheatfields appealed towards the end of last year for 40 Leeds businesses to sign up to commit to helping them raise £40,000 for the hospice in 2018, which is their 40th anniversary year.

It costs £11,000 a day to run the hospice, which has 18 beds, 271 staff and volunteers and eight hospice shops. They have cared for a total of 40,000 patients.

Companion's target is to raise £1,000 this year from a number of fundraising activities; we're planning a Bake Off competition, a Halloween tombola, a Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge and loads more!

£1,000 could pay for:

  • a syringe driver to give constant pain relief for patients
  • a bed for two days of inpatient care for a hospice patient
  • 10 individual visits by community nurses

Please help us to reach our fundraising target and support the Wheatfields team in their fantastic work.
