Indonesia Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal
Campaign by The British Red Cross Society (RCN Eng/Wales 220949,Scot SC037738, IOM 0752, Jers 430)
On December 22nd, a deadly tsunami struck Indonesia after the Krakatau eruption. It has left a trail of destruction in its wake. This comes mere weeks after the earthquake and tsunami in October. The devastation is shocking.

Story

A deadly earthquake has struck Indonesia and triggered a tsunami, which surged inland, destroying almost everything in its wake. Hundreds of people have already lost their lives and thousands of families are in desperate need of food, water, shelter and medical treatment. With a major power cut and damage to communication lines, we don't yet know the full extent of the devastation or loss, but we do know that families are in desperate need of immediate help. Devastatingly, this need will only grow in the coming days. This terrifying disaster is yet another blow to the people of Indonesia, who are still recovering from another large earthquake which shook the country in August.Just like in August, local Red Cross volunteers and staff are already on the ground, supporting search and rescue efforts and distributing vital aid. Please, act now to save lives.
