Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

Four bicycles, 400 miles, 5 days…

Conference Care have pledged to cycle 400 gruelling miles from Scotland to Coventry to raise awareness and £10,000 for Help4Harry and Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Together, four intrepid volunteers will battle the elements, climb mountainous terrain and endure many long hours in the saddle before arriving at Conference Care's Head Office in Coventry on Friday 18th September - some 400 exhausting miles later! Directors Chris Peacock and Andrew Deakin, with Pauline Beattie, Head of Sales Scotland and Sean Henderson, New Business Manager Scotland, begin their quest on Monday 14th September from Dunfermline, Scotland

Why are they doing this? Conference Care are undertaking this huge challenge for a little boy, Harry, and his family, who are close personal friends of Pauline. Harry was diagnosed in 2013 with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and painful condition.

While there is a large amount of research currently taking place there is currently no cure, the only treatment being a steroid program to help manage the disease. Help4Harry was set up to raise awareness and funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK, you can read Harry's story at www.help4harry.co.uk.

Please show your support for the team by donating whatever you can. JustGiving is completely secure - once you donate they will send your money directly to Muscular Dystrophy UK.
