Story
On 3rd October 2021, we are running the Belfast Marathon Team Relay and, with only a little over a month to go, we'd like to kick off our fundraising efforts for PIPS.
PIPS is a Northern Ireland charity that provides life-saving support to individuals who are considering, or who have at some point considered, ending their own lives. PIPS also provides much-needed support to those families and friends who have been touched by suicide.
12 weeks ago, on 1st June 2021, we sadly and unexpectedly lost our best friend, Callum, and know all too well the devastating effects relating to mental health, and it's a subject that is very close to our hearts.
In Callum's memory, we'd be so grateful for any donations to our fundraiser, as would PIPS and those needing their support in our communities across Northern Ireland.
As well as through this page, we will also be fundraising outside Eurospar Greencastle Street and Eurospar Newcastle Road on Saturday 28th August 2021 and buckets will be at the tills throughout the month of September. Please keep an eye out for more fundraising events which we will be organising over the coming weeks where we hope you can get involved too, such as 5k a day in September - all for a great cause.
One of the main barriers to seeking help for mental health problems is stigma. We all need to tackle stigma to create a lasting, positive change in people's attitudes, especially in men, towards mental health. Together we can.
This is for you, Callum. We love, miss and remember you everyday, our best friend forever.
Thanks so much,
Conor, Niall, Shane, Tiarnan and William.
