Team Cops for COPS (PC Laura Logan, PC Rachael Fry, PC Charlene Wheaton, PC Emily Addison, and PC Lucy Fleming ) will be completing the Reading Half Marathon on 2nd March 2013.....IN FULL KIT!!!! Yes that’s stab vests, kit belts and boots for THIRTEEN MILES! As our dear colleagues will know, running in all your gear is challenging enough at the best of times never mind for 3 hours! And if its anything like 2013, it will probably be in the snow aswell!

 

We are torturing ourselves in this way so we can ask you to sponsor us to raise money COPS – Care of Police Survivors – who are a charity that support families of officers killed in the line of duty to rebuild their lives. Sadly recent events in Manchester, Glasgow and a near miss in our very own Thames Valley, show this happens too often and charities like this are relied upon to support their loved ones through their horrific ordeal.

 

Please dig deep to support our cause and make the blisters and bruises all worth it! Any amount large or small will be gratefully received and will go directly to the charity. Any support on the day will also be amazing. We expect to finish it in around 3 hours so we’d like to see you at the finish line around 2pm!
