Story
On the 18th July last year, beautiful Cora Madeleine Sinnott was born to proud parents Han & Joe. After a healthy & uneventful pregnancy, Cora arrived perfectly formed (beautifully chubby 🥰) and weighing a healthy 8lbs 8oz. Nobody dreamt that only 24 hours after entering the world, her parents would be holding her in their arms as she took her last breath.
Han has written beautifully and bravely about their journey as parents navigating life after losing their daughter on her blog https://motherhoodandme.co.uk/blog/. Please take some time if you can to read about their journey in their own words.
To mark Cora’s first birthday on Sunday 18th July 2021, 4 of us will be walking the length of the Sandstone Trail (34 miles) in one day to remember beautiful Cora and to raise funds for a charity close to Han & Joe’s heart. We will start walking at 6 a.m. and will be walking through 7 p.m. with minimal breaks to complete the full 34 mile trail within the day and be back in time to raise a glass (or 6) for Cora’s birthday.
The charity we will be raising funds for is Tommy’s. Tommy’s is the largest charity in the UK carrying out research into the causes of miscarriage, stillbirth, premature birth and neonatal death. Han and Joe have been supported by one of Tommy’s clinics (the Rainbow Clinic in Manchester) who provide specialist care for women who have suffered a previous stillbirth or neonatal death. Please visit https://www.tommys.org to find out more about the essential research and amazing support services Tommy’s provide.
Any donations to Tommy’s would be hugely appreciated by Cora’s parents & family and will help to drag the 4 of us through the 34 mile walk when our legs are heavy and the snack supplies run low.
