Those of you who know me well know I love walking, so when when my good friend Helen "Super H" Jessop announced that she was walking her second marathon,  I immediately invited myself along! 

Unlike Helen,  I've never walked a marathon,  not even accidentally, and until quite recent times, would never have thought I could or should, but I'm planning to train hard and to hike up and down 26 miles of the beautiful hills surrounding Ulswater.

I've decided to dedicate this walk and all of the effort to prepare for it, to the memory of my mom Teresa.  She is with me every step I take and I know that she would have loved to see such a beautiful place with me.
