Story
Since 2005, our family has been directly benefited from and supported by Kirkland Boys & Girls Club. Our two sons both attended on a regular basis for many years. We know that the safe, structured and positive place the Club gave our boys was key to the young men they have become. The impact goes well beyond the sports, crafts and activities they learned and participated in, but it nurtured team work, respect, integrity, accountability and humility. Lorrie and I continue to support the Kirkland, Redmond and Sammamish Boys and Girls Clubs not only financially, but I've been a proud member of their Club Advisory Board for the past three years.
Since the start of the pandemic, 4,000 students have participated in remote learning at Boys & Girls Clubs of King County, doing whatever it takes to ensure all kids have equal access to resources and a supportive learning environment. Clubs are bridging the gap for students and their families with:
- Full-day programming that complements students' remote learning
- A curriculum that fosters resiliency and robust social-emotional health
- Affordable programs and financial assistance
- Access to virtual experiences through video calls and our new Virtual Club site
- Nutritious snacks and meals, and physical exercise
With community support, the Clubs are working hard to make sure young people most impacted by the pandemic have the support they need to build their great futures. Thank you for empowering kids and teens in our community!
