As people will know, I’m not the best runner, I’m not the fastest runner & I certainly do not find it easy but for charity I give it a good go..
I have chosen to run Lake Vyrnwy half marathon again this year in aid of a charity that is very close to my heart- the movement centre! I have been lucky enough to work as a volunteer along side the wonderful staff there over the last couple of years and see with my own eyes what an amazing rewarding job they all do and see some of the fabulous results after targeted training. We all take it for granted being able to lift our heads up, walk 5 steps and even run 5 steps. Some children unfortunately are born with movement disabilities or have accidents which cause them to have movement disabilities-thanks to the movement centre they could have a chance to gain head control, walk & in some cases even run at the end of their targeted training. Which of course is life changing for both the child and their family!
Just one session of targeted training for one child alone costs 6250! Without the help of fundraisers unfortunately the movement centre would not be able to function as it is not NHS funded.
Please donate anything you possibly can, no matter how big or small. Every penny really does help!
Thanks for reading!
Now I best start training good and proper!!!
Our mission at The Movement Centre is to maximise the potential of children’s movement control through Targeted Training.
Many children who visit us have a disability that affects their movement control. Targeted Training addresses these issues. Consequently, a course of therapy can help children to gain essential functional skills. Gaining these skills can make a child far more independent. As a result, this can completely change their lives.
