Ria and Riley's Channel swim 2014

Ria and Riley Channel swim 2014 · 15 September 2014
After 18 hours of swimming, eating and aching muscles, Team Cork has crossed the Channel...
Our lives are not designed, not planned, and not predictable. Our world can be turned upside down in the blink of an eye, and everything that we thought we knew is destroyed. When the unthinkable happens you can choose to let it define who you are to become. You can choose to curl up and hide or to spread your wings and drag yourself from the ashes. This is exactly what my Mum and I did, Neil was more than family. He was and always will be a part of both of us. Swimming the Channel was more than a challenge, It is a statement that whoever you are and whatever happens to you, you can achieve things beyond your wildest dreams, and be stronger than you ever thought you could be.
People all over the world go through horrible things, that no one should have to experience. Around the corner, down your street, maybe even in your homes. There are young people who are going through the agony of losing someone everywhere, and no one should have to do that alone. We both owe a lot to Nelson's journey, the charity that taught us how to put our lives back together and how to cope. There are thousands of others that need help too... £500 is enough to help a child put their lives back together after losing someone. Such a small sum to pay for a child's smile. So please, if you can spare it then donate to this fantastic charity. Nothing can prevent the death of a loved one, but we can be there to help pick up the pieces.
We appreciate your support and truly know what a massive difference it will make...
Thank you
