Story
Thank you for supporting Len Moyle’s fundraising page.
Update: Unfortunately Len passed away on 28th December; however, we did manage to do the shave before his passing, but due to his ill health we will not be uploading photographs.
Len and his wife Jean have a longstanding history of raising money for charity. Known throughout Cornwall as the ‘real’ Father Christmas, Len has grown his beard and dressed up as Santa for the last 30 years – visiting children in schools throughout the county to keep the magic of Christmas alive whilst raising valuable funds for local charities, including the Merlin Centre, Children’s Hospice South West, Cornwall Muscular Dystrophy and Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Some of you may also recognise Len from Cornwall Gold where he appears as Father Christmas in their Santa’s Grotto. When finding out about Len’s illness they said: “We are going to miss Len this year, he has quite the fan base! He is so wonderful with the children, always makes time to see as many as he can.”
Sadly, Len was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year and is currently undergoing treatment, however it hasn’t stopped him wanting to continue his lifetime’s work of raising money for charity and this year his sponsored beard shave is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The charity is there to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support.
Usually Len and his wife Jean would be out in the community to raise money, however due to lockdown and Len’s ill health, that isn’t possible this year so they are asking for donations through JustGiving. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. They'll never sell your details or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your money will be sent directly to the charity, so it's the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs.
So please give what you can to support Len and this amazing charity. Thank you so much!
