Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid supports women and children affected by any form of violence. We provide: Confidential helpline, refuge accommodation, community based drop-in services and help with civil and legal proceedings. We deliver awareness work with children and young people.

Who are Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid?

For 40 years Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid [BSWA] has provided front line domestic violence and abuse support services to women and children in the Birmingham and Solihull area. 

What do they do?

  • Advocate for the rights of ALL women
  • Support women and children affected by
    domestic violence and abuse
  • Educate, train and inspire action
  • Campaign for change

How do they do it?

·      BSWA operate a confidential helpline [0808 800 0028]

·      They deliver advice and support via their drop-in centres

·      Provide safe, emergency refuge accommodation

·      Offer practical housing support and advice through their home options hub

·      Provide community outreach support

·      Support women dealing with criminal and civil legal proceedings

·      Provide family support

·      Deliver training to professionals

·      Work with young people to raise awareness

How can I get involved?

The University of Birmingham are working in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Women’s to celebrate 40 years of helping women and children in the local area to find a way out of violent and abusive situations. 

This year’s sponsored challenge will be to walk, jog, run or cycle 40 km in 1 week. What better way to improve your health and wellbeing whilst recognising an amazing organisation that have given hope and options to many women.
