Story
Staff & students of The County College voted to support Centrepoint in the 9 colleges Charity Challenge this year.
Centrepoint support more than 9,200 homeless young people a year into a home and a job. Although we see young people sleeping rough in parks, stairwells, under bridges and worse, there are thousands more we don't see -spending nights on buses or in the home of strangers - escaping abuse, violence, gangs and fear.
Centrepoint provides homeless young people, aged 16-25, with accommodation, health support and life skills to get them back into education, training and employment.
So how can you help?
- Donating here to sponsor the County Rough Sleep - members of the JCR & the challenge team will be getting out their sleeping bags for a 12-hr sleep-out in Alexandra Square from 8pm on 16th March to 8am on the 17th! Every donation helps - find out more about what Centrepoint could do with your donation on our web pages at wp.lancs.ac.uk/countycharitychallenge/the-county-rough-sleep

- Sponsoring a room. We're looking for individuals, groups, teams, townhouses etc. to club together and donate £12 to sponsor a room for a month. Just tell us which month you'd like to sponsor and who is making the donation in your comments when you donate and we'll add your name (or your group's name) to the board in the bar and on the challenge website
- Coming up with your own fundraising idea and join the challenge! Please let us know so we can help to advertise your event and co-ordinate activities. Email r.fligelstone@lancaster.ac.uk
Thank you for your support!
