The COVID-24 hour challenge · 25 April 2020
Health Service staff and volunteers are working tirelessly in caring for COVID-19 patients, putting their lives on the line, working long and strenuous shifts to protect us. We are attempting to emulate this hard work and dedication and to raise some money for this amazing cause.
Inspired by the Run 5, Donate 5, Nominate 5 craze which has swept through the country, we are going to try our hand at a fitness challenge. We will be carrying some form of exercise for 24 hours straight without rest, like our brave health workers have been doing since this pandemic has begun.
We will be tracking the different kinds of activity through smart watch Heart Rate tracking and apps like Strava. In order to involve everyone in this challenge we will be giving quarterly updates every 6 hours describing how it is going and providing screenshots of our activity up to that point.
As Jack Is Based in Toronto and Ciaran is based in Belfast this we be a truly Transatlantic feat performed across timezones.
We will be doing our part by working out in one form or another for a whole day and all we ask of you is to donate to a wonderful cause.
