COVID Recovery Fund - (Team QEH # 41021)

COVID Recovery Fund · 25 February 2021
The funds will support our local hospital and its staff and cover the cost of:
We want this to be a gesture beyond fundraising, more a show of solidarity and support for our local hospital.
The goal of £100,000 would allow funds to facilitate these two specific requests. It would assist a remarkable group of people to fulfil their responsibilities and offer much needed support in these challenging times.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn, has supported our local community throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Its teams on the front line demonstrate abundant and selfless care daily. It may well be that you have experienced that care yourself; Monica and Nick Zoll certainly witnessed life-giving expertise when they were both admitted to the Hospital over Christmas.
"As a recent patient, I experienced the kindest professional care. I am extremely grateful for what they did for us. The teams were clearly working under incredibly tough circumstances, exhausted after 12 long months of caring for patients during this pandemic. Seeing it first hand made me realise fully how tough it is for our front line staff, and how much these critical care teams deserve not only our thanks but also our mutual support". In an attempt to thank and recognise the unfailing professionalism of the team at the QEH during this ongoing crisis, we have worked with staff and hospital management to identify two areas where extra support is needed going forward.
The first request is that we help contribute to the substantial pastoral care needed for staff suffering PTSD (post-traumatic stress) inflicted by performing their job. We are aiming to cover the cost for one year of a full time PTSD clinical psychologist to cover mental health support 24/7.
The second request is the provision of extra vital signs monitors to assist in the care for patients with Covid-19 more easily. We aim to buy 25 of these.
We would be grateful if you could support us - Thank You so much
