Summer Camp · 5 August 2019

Since 1993, we have been working with local churches to bring awareness of the need for support for children impacted by foster care and adoption. Our support services include relevant education and critical resources. We serve the entire breadth of families impacted by foster care and adoption.

Story

I will be an overnight camp counselor at Signs of Hope Summer Camp in the Santa Cruz mountains. It’s a typical summer camp — water slides, cabins, lizards, a rock climbing wall, grilled cheese sandwiches... except it's only for foster children. We will be counseling at-risk and foster youth from San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz Counties. This is one of 14 programs that the non-profit Help One Child in Los Altos has run for foster kids for the last 23 years. It will be my third year, and the most valiant return of Cowboy the Camp Counselor.
