DPM UK - Channel Swim 2010 · 19 July 2010 ·

Derek Prince (1915 - 2003) was one of the founders of the Charismatic movement and an internationally recognised Bible teacher. His preaching and teaching ministry touched millions of lives and continues to be a source of inspiration and insight to many Christians today. During his lifetime Derek Prince poured himself out to reach the unreached and teach the untaught. Today his teaching is available in 100 languages to Christians in the UK, the Middle East, China, the former Soviet Union and elsewhere. Through the generous support of many individuals and churches Derek Prince Ministries (DPM) continues to resource church leaders and congregations in different parts of the world. The DPM UK office was founded in 1986. Since then, it has served thousands of believers and church leaders in the UK and worldwide. To find our more visit our website: www.dpmuk.org

Story

I have been invited to join the Derek Prince Ministries relay team to swim the English Channel in July 2010.

The English Channel is a unique and demanding swim, considered by many to the be the ultimate long distance challenge. More people have climbed Mount Everest than swum the English Channel.

Although we will be attempting this swim in a 6 person relay team, we will still face numerous challenges:
35km (21 miles) distance
Sea temperature 16C
Jellyfish
Moving tides
Swimming in the dark
Busiest shipping lane in the world

Derek Prince Ministries (DPM) would like to raise money for their Outreach projects, where they can supply bible teaching around the world, as well as "Orphans and Widows" program in Ethiopia.

So please give what you can to support DPM in this worthwhile Christian cause.
