Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.

Story

When I was 6, I was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome.....

Nephrotic syndrome is a nonspecific disorder in which the kidneys are damaged, causing them to leak large amounts of protein.

It is most common in 2-6 year olds and is treatable most commonly with Prednisolone Steroids and other immuno-suppressive drugs.

Most children grow out of the illness. Unfortunately this has not been the case for me and after 21 years I thought it was about time I did my bit to raise awareness for the younger sufferers of this illness.
