Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page... most of you'll know I'm married to a beautiful 3rd year student midwife, who's also the mother to our 3 amazing boys. Whilst I didn't sign up to being a midwife, it's a vocation I'm married to!

Midwives do an amazing job, looking after our wives or partners, supporting us at one of our most memorable but also vulnerable points in life, even us fellas! I know from experience I was helpless and completely out of control when Baby decided to arrive. The thought of a midwife not being there is terrifying, the thought of having to "try to do it" is enough to get me motivated to do this, hopefully you'll support and donate.

Maternity Worldwide are currently training 67 dedicated community Midwives (aka community healthcare workers) in Malawi to become Skilled Birth Attendants, providing a range of essential maternal and newborn healthcare. They need a bike to get to remote rural villages, to provide essential and often life saving health care, usually serving multiple villages. There isn't the infrastructure of the NHS behind them or the transport. It is just a midwife, putting a midwife on a bike can be the difference!

My target is to provide 2 bicycles, they're just £130 each. The bicycle enables the midwife to go further, faster, enabling them to care for women who have very limited or no access to maternity care. 

I haven't run for anything since I was a student, the odd hockey ball-aside. My target is to run this half marathon and leave myself fit enough to run some more! I've actually started to enjoy it and this gives it a little more purpose.
