Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.RMA - The Royal Marines Charity exists to help the entire Royal Marines family. Offering a range of services to both serving, veterans and their families. 

In April 2023 I will travel to the wonderful country of Nepal to undertake arguably my biggest challenge yet - to climb to the summit of the world's tallest peak - Mount Everest. This will involve the infamous trek through the beautiful Khumbu valley all the way to Everest base camp - a fantastic journey and challenge in itself.

The challenge however will begin in earnest at this point......over the next 2 months I will acclimatise by making repeated forays up and down the mountain though the infamous and perilous Khumbu icefall, all the while my body increasing it's resilience to the effects of extreme altitude and debilitating physical exertion.

Once fully acclimated, I will await a suitable weather window whereby the Jetstream (the band of high altitude wind that circumnavigates the globe), permits me to ascend and descend before the brutal and ferocious winds return thus marking the onset of the monsoon season which renders an expedition to the roof of the world impossible.

None of this would be possible without the fantastic support of the local Sherpa people, whose ability to operate at extreme altitude and ever-friendly and positive attitude is astonishing. The support from my sponsors so far,  both corporate and private individuals, is hugely appreciated. 

Being able to hopefully raise some funds along the way through this fantastic platform was an opportunity not to be missed and I thank everyone sincerely for any donation. The work the Royal Marines Charity carries out quietly and often under the radar is humbling.
