Story

Well 2019 was a year to remember and after successfully competing in 3 endurance events I'm back for another endurance event. On 19th June 2020 I will be setting off from the Grand Hotel in Scarborough to walk 110 miles to Manchester. This will be my toughest one to date and I'm aiming to do this non-stop. It's expected to take around 40 hours to complete and I'm sure there will be lots of laughs and plenty of not so great moments. Life is definitely about pushing yourself and it's something I thrive on.

I made the decision to put my flippers on the back burner for now, as last year's longest ever 31 mile flipper walk was extremely tough going. I did it, but my word I needed all the support to get over the line!!

During the next 8 months I will be training and I mean training!!! Part of my training will involve me carrying out special events which should get me to where I need to be.

Challenge 1 - 14th March 2020 - Slipperthon 40 miles

Completed😁

I'm planning to slipper walk from Anfield stadium to Goodison Park stadium to Old Trafford stadium and finally arriving at Etihad stadium. This was something I wanted to do last year, but due to personal reasons I had to postpone walking in slippers. This is definitely not an easy challenge due to the type of footwear. Let's hope it's not raining that day!!

Challenge 2 - 11h & 25th July 2020 - Fleetwood to Manchester 81 miles walking in slippers via Blackpool, Lytham,  Preston and Southport

Completed 😁

I managed to find like minded people who want to walk with me with slippers on😂😂 Thank you to Alan Bancroft, Adele Jewell, John Bancroft and last of all Karen Hill 💙💙💙💙Amazing people who do amazing things for you. This challenge is going to be tough as we will be walking for over 24 hrs who knows what are feet are going to look like when we hit Manchester!!!

Having raised over £7.5k previously I'm even more passionate to continue to raise valuable funds for a charity that do amazing things for amazing people. Having walked through the hospital on a number of occasions you get such a positive feeling about the place. It's like no other place. I'm proud to continue to support the Christie and what they do. They make a difference and your donations will make a massive difference.
