Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running – Marathon 2015 · 27 September 2015 ·

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Lets Get Aub-sessed is going turbo! (at least for me). I will be running Glasgow 1/2 marathon Great Scottish Run as usual but a week earlier I will be taking part in the Loch Ness Marathon. That's a lot of miles!

I'm running on behalf of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) who screen young adults for cardiac disorders and support those who have lost loved ones. I'm running the races for Aubrey Smith and his family (I was at school with the"triplets"). Aub lined up with me when I ran my first half marathon and tragically he never finish the race. I think about this day a lot when I'm running and knowing I am raising money to prevent this happening to others will get me to the finish in Inverness.
