Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. We believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving our vision

Story

Lance Armstrong may be one of the greatest endurance athletes in history, but the text message he wrote to his ex-wife after running the New York Marathon still read: ‘Oh. My. God. Ouch. Terrible’. Marathons hurt. That much is clear.

But if one Marathon hurts Lance that much, then three marathons in three days is going to hurt me a hell of a lot more.

Yes…this wet November I’m competing in an ultra-endurance race in the Welsh hil...ls - running 3 marathons, in 3 days in aid of Mencap. That’s 78.6 miles in 3 days on two feet! The aim – survival.

On the upside there are qualified medics on hand every 6-8miles of so to tend to wounds and woes. And it’s for a good cause, so every uphill will be more money in the bank to help people with learning disabilities.

So, if you can spare any cash at all to help motivate me up the Welsh mountains and vanquish the Pembrokeshire valleys, please give generously and help me raise much needed funds for Mencap who do such great work across the UK.
